When it comes to your home, one of the more important stylistic decisions you need to make is what flooring to use and where. You interact with the floors in your home more than any other part, every step connects you to your floor, and choosing the right flooring that is beautiful, comfortable, and low-maintenance can make a huge difference in your home. Here are a few flooring materials you should think about installing in your home.

Hardwood

A classic, and for good reason. Hardwood flooring has always carried with it an elegance and warmth that few other flooring options offer. Hardwood is an incredibly durable flooring option, if they are taken care of properly, your hardwood flooring can last for decades in great condition

And hardwood is incredibly low-maintenance, you can clean them just about any way you like, vacuuming or sweeping, even steam-cleaning is safe on most hardwood flooring. Hardwood stays cleaner longer than carpeting, as there aren’t nooks and cranny for crumbs and dirt to hide. Plus, when it comes to resale value on your home, hardwood is a bigger selling point over carpet.

Tile

Tile is another great option to consider for your home. Whether you like stone, marble, laminate, hardwood, or any other flooring look, there are tile options that will deliver what you are looking for. Tile is a less expensive option than some of the flooring options they can mimic making them a great way to save money while giving yourself the look you want.

Tile can resemble different types of material, while still being easy to care for. Since it is tile, it can be vacuumed or swept without fear of damage that some flooring options come with.

Vinyl

If you walk around your house barefoot, then vinyl may be the way to go for your home flooring. Vinyl is a very flexible material that has a very soft feel. Vinyl flooring often mimics other flooring styles like hardwood or stone, but is easier to maintain and cheaper.  There is a vinyl flooring option out there for everyone.

With so many flooring options out there, it can be a struggle to make a decision for your home. But with a little bit of research, you can be confident you are finding the best compromise between appearance, feel, and cost. No matter which option above you choose, you’ll be happy with your choice.
